Abstract(s)

This work was developed within the training period in the scope of the Master in Environmental Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra – Agriculture College, which was performed at the company Borgstena Textile Portugal. The main objectives were: to review and update legal requirements on occupational health and safety, environmental , energy and energy efficiency; to review, update and verify operational procedures of occupational health and safety and environmental management systems; to define procedures and responsibilities for energy management and energy efficiency; and to identify opportunities for improvement, thus contributing to the continuous improvement of the occupational health and safety and environmental management systems implemented at Borgstena Textile Portugal. This company is certified by several standards, including the ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 and the implemented management systems are promoting continuous improvement, although there are improvement opportunities, particularly in what concerns energy
